About Kat Fantin
My name is Kat Fantin. I am the one behind the camera. I’m married and have three amazing kids. We live in Lapeer in a cute little house in the woods. A few of my favorite things include popcorn, wine, and dark chocolate. I also consider myself a musician! I am an experienced vocalist and play the guitar, violin, and piano. My side hobbies include sewing and knitting, which I incorporate into my Newborn sessions by hand-making my own outfits and props!
My journey in photography started as a teenager with a hand me down point and shoot camera. I photographed everyone and everything, all the time. Through the years, I have worked in different fields and studied several subjects, but photography has always remained a constant in my life. Now, I own a full frame mirrorless camera body (Nikon is my fave!) and a collection of my favorite prime lenses. My business, Kat Fantin Photography, is my pride and joy.
Over the years, I have attended multiple in person workshops all over the country to learn hands on how to safely pose a newborn, and continue to learn from others in the newborn photography community nearly every day. I have years of experience when it comes to handling babies, and believe it is very important to choose a newborn photographer who puts your child’s safety above everything else. Since 2017, I have been providing professional newborn portraiture to the Lapeer area.
My home studio is located in Lapeer. It is filled with beautiful props, backgrounds, accessories, outfits, and designer maternity gowns. I use professional lighting equipment, so we never have to worry about the time of day or the quality of light outside!
