Newborn Photography
When a baby is born, they have that adorable wrinkled skin and love to be in those curly womb-like poses. The best time to schedule your newborn shoot is within the first two weeks of life so that we can document those details that baby quickly grows out of. However, it is never too late to photograph your baby! Some newborn photographers will turn away babies who are older than 14 days and not quite old enough for a milestone session, but that is not the case at Kat Fantin Photography. If you want gorgeous portraits of your baby, I have the patience and training to work with babies of any age.
Parents and siblings will be included in every newborn session. A new baby arriving is a wonderful event for the whole family, and I want to document the joy, love, and connection between mom, dad, big brothers, and big sisters.
Newborn sessions typically last between 2-3 hours depending on how sleepy baby decides to be. I always recommend to bring older siblings at the end of the session for their part, and to have dad or another caregiver keep them home or play outside while we work on baby’s photos. This ensures that everybody (especially mom) is happy and stress-free. The room will be very warm to keep the baby comfortable, so dress accordingly and bring a drink and a snack.
