Since it has been recommended that we practice social distancing, most of our time has been spent at home. My kids are restless and fighting a lot more than usual. As of right now, we are still allowed to leave our homes without restrictions.
So, while we continue to abide by social distancing guidelines, I came up with a scavenger hunt that we can do in the car. We just spent some time driving around town, checking things off of the list as we saw them. I had my 7 year old hold the clipboard and be in charge of the list. I’ll drop a printable scavenger hunt copy with our list below, along with a blank printable scavenger hunt that you can add your own things to.
You can make it as easy or hard as you want. Think about some things ahead of time, like… will there be a prize if we find all of the things on the list? Who is in charge of checking things off as we go? Do pictures on signs or billboards count, or does it have to be the actual item? Is a “car” an actual car, or can it also be a van or truck? My kids had so much fun with this today, and everyone is in a much better mood now. And, we didn’t come into contact with anybody, which means we are still successfully practicing social distancing.
I’ve attached the PDF download links here so you can easily print this out! Comment below and let me know if this was helpful for you and your family. I’d love to hear some more ideas to add to our list. Good luck and have fun everyone!
